Fudged facts

It is fairly obvious, through experience alone, that connex, yarra trams and all other public transport companies are ineffective and impuctual (I don't think that's a word.) Yet these companies are consistently reporting that they are meeting standards set in delivering services. However, the services delivered are clearly inefficient the ONLY way that these companies are reporting that they meet standards is by manipulating the nature of data collection itself so as to consistently meet requirements, at least on paper. Perhaps, and this is surely not too strenuous an activity, some time spent monitoring train and tram consistency of service delivery ourselves would be of benefit (it's something to do while waiting for yet antother delayed train, just write down all relevant info), or we could see if any consumer advocacy groups are already attempting to do that for us, but something to look into...
